I am trying to ease into change as far as blogging and life goes but have discovered that there are always bumps in the road. For instance, I installed Leo Babauta’s minimalist wordpress theme and discovered that my archives would not come up. As I attempted to fix the HTML code I messed up the whole thing, That is why I have jumped back to an older theme of mine that works.

Does that mean I am giving up on Leo’s theme? Of course not, because I really want to embrace the minimalist way. But it does mean that I am gently going back to the drawing board.

Sometimes you have to make several faltering attempts at something in order to get it right. That goes for writing, running, or cleaning up the kitchen. Today, my mistake with the editor program on Leo’s theme made my site non-functional, but at first it worked partially. By trial and error I am learning. In the end, I think I will get to the minimal theme I want and will learn some HTML as a bonus.

Learning by trial and error generally means the lessons really stick. That is a good thing, right?
