colewriting: Sunshine and Writing
There is something about a sunny day after weeks of drizzle and blustery wind that gives me hope and makes me want to write. I suppose it is the effect of the sun or the feeling that spring is just around the corner. I want to get out, to hike, to run, to just take a leisurely drive around the Bay Area, but I also want to write. I guess that writing is such a part of my life that when I feel positive and have the energy that seems to infuse me with the coming of spring weather, I naturally want to put some of that energy into writing. The only problem, and this is a good problem to have, is that I have so many ideas floating around in my head that I am not sure where to begin. The answer is simple: Start anywhere… finish one thing, and then move on to the next thing. For those list makers out there you can begin by making a list of all the great things you want to write. Carry around a notebook and jot ideas down while on a hike enjoying the sunshine. That is what I intend to do.
Sunshine brings energy and I don’t want to waste this gift. Time to start writing and editing, trusting that some of that energy and optimism will work its way into my writing.
